Creator or The Sew and Stow Cuttingboard
Erica Sawdon is the creator of her unique cutting board Sew&Stow. For 13 years she has been an upholsterer, specialising in pieces of luxury bespoke furniture and soft furnishings for homes and workspaces.
Determined to share her passion for her craft, Erica also runs teaching courses and workshops.
For many years Erica used her dining table to cut fabric. She came up with the idea of designing a strong, light and foldable cutting board about 5 years ago. The research and development process has been thorough, lengthy and rigorously tested. The original idea has been taken much further, culminating in a quality tool that solves so many problems for professional and amateur sewists alike.
Her initial design evolved Sew&Stow over 5 years of R&D and countless prototypes until it met Erica’s exacting standards.
Launched in 2023 Sew&Stow has earned rave reviews from everyone who has seen it.
Erica uses Sew&Stow every working day.
Erica is an unapologetic eco warrior. She has always detested the plastic, including foam, which is in constant use in modern upholstery.
She is a strident advocate of using natural materials such as wool, cotton, hemp, coconut fibre and rubber wherever possible so every aspect of Sew&Stow is manufactured in the UK.
